'Firefly' marks milestone in science TV special
Los Angeles: The 'Firefly' saga consists of 14 TV episodes, one big-screen movie and the undiminished passion of the space Western's fans, stars and producers. To mark the 10th anniversary of the Fox show's abbreviated 2002-03 run, the Science Channel is airing the hour long 'Firefly 10th Anniversary: Browncoats Unite' at 10 p.m. EST Sunday.
The special will be preceded by a marathon showing of all the 'Firefly' episodes starting at 7 a.m. EST.

'Lost' creator JJ Abrams to receive lifetime award
Los Angeles: J.J. Abrams, co-creator of the hit television series 'Lost' and one of Hollywood's top producer-directors of supernatural films and TV shows, will receive the Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television, the Producers Guild of America said on Monday.
Abrams, whose current credits include TV shows 'Fringe,' 'Revolution' and 'Person of Interest,' and the 2009 film 'Star Trek,' will receive the award at a Beverly Hills ceremony in January.

Sharon Osbourne undergoes double mastectomy
London: Sharon Osbourne, wife of heavy metal singer-songwriter Ozzy Osbourne, has undergone a preventive double mastectomy over fears she could develop breast cancer.
The 60-year-old, who battled colon cancer in the early 2000s, was horrified to discover she has a genetic mutation which raises her chances of developing the disease, reported Hello! magazine.

Ashton Kutcher is the highest paid TV actor
New York: When Ashton Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen on the hit comedy 'Two And a Half Men,' he also took his place as television's highest-paid actor, according to Forbes' annual survey released on Wednesday.
Forbes estimated Kutcher earned $24 million from May 2011 to May 2012, while Sheen, now starring in 'Anger Management' on cable television following a very public firing from the hit CBS show, didn't even make the top 10.

Colour and a little leg get noticed at the Emmys
Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum ramped up the sizzle Sunday night on the Emmy Awards red carpet that already had TV's biggest stars talking about just how hot they were because of the sweltering temperatures in Los Angeles.
Vergara wore a teal gown by Zuhair Murad with beads all over and a cutout reverse halter neckline, and Klum chose a seafoam-colored gown by Alexandre Vauthier with plunging Vs from every angle on the top and super-high slits that left very little in the middle.

Emmy Awards 2012: 'Homeland' wins best drama series
Los Angeles: The Emmy Awards refused to play it predictably on Sunday, with awards going to Damian Lewis and Claire Danes of "Homeland" and Jon Cryer of "Two and a Half Men" and Jimmy Kimmel proving a game but uneven host.
Lewis' win denied Bryan Cranston of "Breaking Bad" wins his fourth Emmy Award as lead actor in a drama and made "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm an also-ran once more.
