Shimla: Bir Singh, a 102-year-old leprosy patient, exercised his franchise at a special polling booth in Himachal Pradesh in the fifth and final phase of General Elections on Wednesday.

"Bir Singh was among the 13 voters who exercised franchise this morning at a special polling station set up for the leprosy patients in Solan district," state chief electoral officer Anil Khachi said.

He further added, the polling station for the 13 patients admitted to the Leprosy Hospital in Sanawar in Solan district, was the only one of its kind in the state.

"Other leprosy-affected patients will cast votes at general polling stations," Kachi added.
