Mumbai: The 11th Annual Rajiv Gandhi awards were held at Mumbai's National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) on Sunday.
In this event Bollywood hogged its limelight at Salman Khan, who performed to his hit tunes. The other eye catchers of the show were the performances by Kareena Kapoor and Rakhi Sawant.
“I performed at patriotic songs. All politicians were sitting in front of me, I felt great,” Rakhi said after her performance.
“I love it. I have performed at every awards function and like I said I love dancing so I guess it shows,” said the delighted Kareena Kapoor.
Chote Nawab Saif Ali Khan picked up the Best Actor trophy , Lara Dutta bagged the Best Actor female award and child wonder Darsheel Safary was awarded in the child prodigy category. And, the great Khali was given the Super Achiever award.
“I am very thankful to everybody for honoring me and giving me these awards and I'll surely do much better,” said Darsheel after receiving the award.
"I think there are so many awards today that it tends to get a little gimmyky ,so getting the national awards or Rajiv Gandhi award is good and it is also given to people from various industries so it is also nice to be one of the three from the film industry,” said the former Miss Universe Lara Dutt.
For the film makers this was just another day as they walked the red carpet, shook a leg, picked up a couple trophies, gave a speech and walked out.
