New Delhi: Shiv Sakhuja, a teenager, is the domain holder, creator and developer of 'controlyourmac'. He has had his priorities in place. When most 11-year-olds were busy with their play-stations, Shiv was developing his own website. In 2008, he went on to become the domain holder, creator and developer of 'controlyourmac', a website that tells you everything your Mac can do in a simplified and user-friendly manner.
"I used my dad's mac and I developed an interest in its functioning. When his friends and my friends would call with a query or confusion I would help them with the solution, so I thought why not put up these answers on a website for everyone to see." Shiv said.
The teenager started off by reading about how to create a website. Without listing any professional help, he learned HTML to develop the code. He has also designed the website on his own.
Such was his love for Mac that soon Shiv found out a slew of functions that are usually hidden to most users, like a simple game of snakes. He puts these up on his website and links them to his social feeds. The result was a higher number of hits on his website.
But this whiz kid didn't stop here. He went on to develop several simple yet effective applications like kwik cal, kwik games, and kwik mailing, some of which are up on the internet and available for downloading.
"One of my applications kwik mail was accepted by Apple and was on their website for downloading for about a month. I am also learning another computer language 'objective C' to make iPhone applications like tap a Twitter," Shiv said.
A science student, he is now preparing to crack the IIT. Although his ophthalmologist father Navin Sakuja says he never tries to interfere in his son's life, he does ensure that his wonder child gets his support when it's needed the most.
