120-year-old banyan tree uprooted in rain

KOLAR: Torrential rain lashing the district for the last four days uprooted a 120-year-old banyan tree at Harohalli village in Malur taluk on Wednesday.
Villagers reported that no houses were damaged due to the falling of the tree. They said the tree was planted by one Krishnappa which had a religious significance as they used to perform puja here.
As news spread about the incident, people from neighbouring villages rushed in to see the uprooted tree.
