Noida: A 12-year-old girl is suspected to have died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday in Noida’s Amity School.
Surabhi Rajput, a student of class VII, was standing in the playground waiting for her turn to play football when she suddenly collapsed around 1010 hours IST.
After the morning prayer in school, the sports team including Surabhi remained in the playground while other students went for their classes, informed vice-president (public relations) of the Amity group of institutions, Savita Mehta.
School authorities informed the girls' parents and rushed her to Noida’s Bhardwaj Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. The doctors said Surabhi died of cardiac arrest.
Surabhi’s father Sanjay Rajput told the police that he did not want any legal action against anybody. The police, too, is not investigating the matter.
The police also allowed the family to perform the cremation of the child without conducting autopsy, Superintendent of Noida Police Prabal Pratap Singh said.
