The East Coast Railway provided over 1.33 lakh additional berths to clear the wait-listed passengers during the first quarter of the current financial year.
During this period, the Railways created the additional berths by augmenting coaches in different trains. As many as 1,011 additional coaches in different regular trains, originating from its jurisdiction, operated to different destinations of the country, providing 81,485 additional berths, a release said.
Similarly, ECoR also ran 55 Special trains towards different destinations from its jurisdiction, which provided 52,288 additional berths to the commuters travelling to their destinations.
