150 minor sex workers rescued from Delhi

New Delhi: Around 150 sex workers were rescued in a raid on Monday evening from GB Road, a red light area in central Delhi.

Some of them are said to be as young as 12 years old and were being kept in small enclosures in the area.

A team of Delhi Police alongwith a police team from Andhra Pradesh raided brothels on the tip off from an Andhra-based NGO.

Most of the women are reported to be from Andhra Pradesh. Some are also from Maharashtra and even Bangladesh.

The women are now at the Kamla Market police station in Central Delhi.
