New Delhi: Anjali is suffering from over 70 per cent burn injuries. The seventeen-year-old student was alone at home when two men forced themselves into her house, poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze.
Sub-divisional Officer, Girish Bohre said, "The girl had told us on Friday that when she was returning home from tuitions, these men tried to harass her. Their names are Ganesh Tiwari and Nawab."
An attempt to murder case has been registered against the duo and police have already arrested one of the acused, Ganesh Tiwari. They are looking for the other accused, Nawab.
Anjali had earlier complained that the two men were harassing her.
Woman and Child Development Minister, Renuka Chaudhary said, "If anything happens to the girl child in this country, no one is going to get away with it. If a girl complains, authorities should react swiftly and arrest the accused immediately. If terrorising like this happens then I am afarid no girl will come out to complain."
