New Zealand's Test series against West Indies could define captain Brendon McCullum's future with the aggressive batsman battling a chronic back injury and reports suggesting he is contemplating retirement. The 32-year-old McCullum returned home early from the tour of Bangladesh to receive treatment on his back, which has bothered him for more than two years.

Commentary (New Zealand 2nd Innings)

That's it from us then. Been a pretty good Test match which saw some dominant cricket followed up by a fighting spirit where eventually rain had the last laugh. Join us again for the second Test which starts from 11th December. Until then, good bye and take care.

Ross Taylor is the Man of the Match for his unbeaten knocks 217 and 16.

New Zealand were left chasing 112 runs as West Indies managed to pick up four early wickets, all picked up Shillingford. Kiwis would be gutted after such a great performance, they failed to register a win. This will also boost West Indies as they came back from a tough position.

After getting so close to their first Test win in 2013, rain has destroyed the Kiwi's chances. Although they got in a bit of trouble while chasing a low target but Taylor and Anderson were guiding them through. The Kiwis posted a huge first innings total first up, thanks to the double ton from Ross Taylor and a century from the skipper McCullum. Then Southee and Boult ripped off West Indies' batting as they enforced a follow-on. But the Caribbean side came back nicely, a fighting knock from Darren Bravo of 218 runs giving some respect to the Caribbean total.

How unlucky can you get? Ultimately rain plays the spoilsport as the first Test match between New Zealand and West Indies is DRAWN. Sigh...

West Indies have surprised one and all and so have the Kiwis in this session. Their batsmen have literally gifted wickets to the Windies. Rutherford perished in similar fashion to the way he did in the first innings. The disappointment came from skipper McCullum who played a needless shot. Since then, Taylor and Anderson have calmed the chase down a bit. There is some rain around but the Kiwis need just 33 runs to win. Be back for the final session in a few minutes.
