Two women who took snaps of politicians to cheat people by promising them government jobs  were arrested by Yeswantpur police. They accused are Preethi Hegde, 52, and Jayalakshmi, 35. Police said Preethi took pictures of VIPs and senior government officials at events organised by Nehru Youth Centre and claimed that she was close to them. Jayalakshmi, on the other hand, claimed to be a social worker and  senior correspondent with a news agency. She promised people of government jobs through her friend Preethi.

According to police, the duo had promised one Indira, to get police sub-inspector’s post. Indira had secured less marks in the PSI exam and had reportedly approached the accused to find a job. They had taken `5 lakh from her in July, last year, and promised her the job. However, they neither got the job nor returned her the money. Indira’s sister filed a case against the duo recently, following which, they were arrested.

“They had also cheated one Swarnalatha, and  had claimed to get her son a job in ITC.  They had taken `6.5 lakh and had not returned the money.”
