New Delhi: As the Commonwealth Games are round the corner , the organisers are busy roping in celebrities to promote the brand.
Bollywood big stars – Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif – have been reportedly approached by the organisers but one big name which is missing is that of Amitabh Bachchan.
“I am not aware that there are brand ambassadors being approached for the Commonwealth but if they were to ask me I would certainly do it,” says Bachchan.
The officials associated with the organising committee told CNN-IBN that the list is yet to be finalised.
However, Big B’s close associate and Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh sees some politics behind it.
“I think it is because of certain element in the Government who try to be more loyal than the king,” says Amar Singh.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari denies that there is any kind of politics involved in the decisions.
“If they have finalised a list of brand ambassadors and if anybody is included or excluded the Commonwealth Secretariat would be in the best position to answer that,” says Tewari.
