Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the ZDi variant of the Ritz in India at a price of Rs 6.23 lakh ex-Delhi. Apart from a mild face-lift, Maruti claims that the new Ritz diesel will deliver a fuel efficiency of 23.2kmpl, up from the outgoing car’s 21.1 kmpl.
The engineers at Maruti were able to achieve this fuel efficiency with calibration optimization and by reducing losses in the engine due to friction, without altering the 75PS and 190Nm power and torque figures respectively.
Exterior changes in the Ritz include new headlamp design, body side moulding and rear spoiler. The VDi and ZDi trims get red dual tone interiors, improved rear seating with better lumbar support, new audio system with USB and electrically operated ORVMs.
