New Delhi: A famous model and two time finalist in the Brazilian stage of the Miss World pageant is now fighting for life.
The 20-year-old beauty, Mariana Bridi is suffering from an infection that reduced the flow of oxygen to her limbs. Her feet were amputated last week and doctors decided to surgically remove her hands too.
Bridi fell ill in December, when doctors diagnosed her with kidney stones, but her condition worsened and she was then diagnosed with a urinary tract infection that spread.
Doctors say that the infection has made her body resistant to multiple antibiotics.
