New Delhi: Family members of senior police officers who died fighting Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab and other terrorists who attacked Mumbai in November 2008 have slammed the investigating committee report saying its findings will not help fight terror and do nothing to help state's fight against terror.
"This (report) will send a bad message to the society," said slain ATS chief Hemant Karkare's wife Kavita.
Karkare was the senior-most officer who lost his life fighting terrorists in the 26/11 Mumbai attack.
The R Pradhan Committee, which submitted its report on Wednesday, had completely exonerated the state government and police machinery of lapses and family members of police personnel who died in the attack are outraged.
"There was no coordination between intelligence, Coast Guard and police but the committee has not accepted that and I know they will never accept the lapses otherwise I would not have lost my husband," added Kavita.
Her words were echoed by Hemant Karkare brother Shirish.
"They do not seem to find any lapse anywhere. God forbid if another such attack takes place, will there be officers like Karkares, Kamtes and Salaskars?" asked Shirish.
The Pradhan Committee had probed the action taken on intelligence inputs and conduct of police officials during the attack but squarely put the blame on the Centre.
"As far as the intelligence angle is concerned the Centre did not give any direct input to Maharashtra. Therefore the state government did not fail on any account," committee Chairperson Ram Pradhan said.
During the investigation the committee interviewed over 50 police personnel, examined 5,000 police control room logs and also visited the attack sites.
But its 100-page report did not fix responsibility on any official and also evaded a number of key issues saying they were subjudice.
The report, in fact, praised the work of Mumbai Police officers. The state government said it would act on the report recommendations after tabling it in the Assembly.
