Vasi (Gujarat): Several hours before the carnage began in Mumbai on November 26, the massacre had begun on the sea coast where terrorists killed five fishermen.

Of those five, the body of only one has been found. Families of the other four believe they were killed an such is the pessimism that they have started performing the last rights using the fishermen’s dummies.

Umesh Rathod, son of missing fisherman Balawant Rathod says, "My family members went to Porbandar to get information about my father. But they were informed by the authorities that there is no hope of him being alive”.

The story of Golbibai is same. Her son Natu is among those missing. "My son Natu left home almost a month back for fishing and had not returned yet. Police informed me they don’t know his whereabouts and I don't have any other option than to plan cremation,” she says.

All the four missing fishermen on board the Kuber came from Gujarat's Vashi village.

Investigating officers believe the terrorrists killed them and used the boat to travel to India. Their families are now asking for some relief from the govt

“They are also victims of terrorist attack and so their families also deserve compensation offered to families of other victims,” says fishermen leader Arvind Tandel.
