CNN-IBN The blame has been put on the Mumbai police commissioner. Is this fair?
Sudhakar Soradkar: It is not fair. It is a team work. Everybody has failed. I will start from intelligence. Mr Shivanand, commissioner of intelligence, what was he doing? The chief secretary, the DG. What was he doing? Everybody was to blame. You cannot single out only the Mumbai commissioner of police.
CNN-IBN: Would you call it an individual victory of the officials or a victory of Mumbai police as a whole?
Sudhakar Soradkar: It is individual bravery. No questions about it. They laid down their lives, but when it comes to the system, the system has failed. We have trained commandos, we have the weapons required, vehicles, all the man power and the equipment were available but it was not put to use.
CNN-IBN: Will the report findings have a bearing on the opinion the public has of the government?
Sudhakar Soradkar: The report should be published because both the officers are known for their integrity, honesty and straightforwardness.
