New Delhi: Audio tape linking Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) prosecutor AK Singh to 2G scam accused Sanjay Chandra will now be part of the status report, a week after CNN-IBN's 2G collusion expose, sources have said. The status report is set to be presented to the Supreme Court on Monday.

In one portion of the audio, the CBI suspects their chief 2G prosecutor Singh is offering to examine the defence witness at whichever date recommended by the defence. The CBI also believes the second voice is of Unitech's Chandra, who is suggesting the name of one Gaurav Jain, his company's senior legal manager, as the witness they are discussing.

A preliminary enquiry by the CBI had found that Singh had helped Chandra by sharing the legal strategy of the case. Meanwhile, the audio samples of both Singh and Chandra, along with the CD containing the original conversation between the two, have been sent to a forensic lab for authentication.

The case has been in the news for irregularities in auction during the allocation of 2G spectrum. The accused in the case include high profile names like former Telecom Minister A Raja and DMK leader Kanimozhi, amongst others.

CBI officials say the forensic report will be available in a few weeks time. Meanwhile, Chandra was again questioned by the CBI on Friday.
