New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has now summoned Swan and DB Realty promoter Shahid Balwa to join investigations in the 2G collusion. The net in the 2G collusion, exposed by CNN-IBN, has widened after Balwa has been asked to join CBI investigations.

Balwa is expected to join the investigations on Wednesday at the CBI headquarters after lunch. Balwa has been summoned after his name was discussed by Sanjay Chandra and CBI prosecutor AK Singh in their recorded conversation which was aired by CNN-IBN.

The CBI has said that prima facie the audio tape is genuine and that corporate rivalry is behind this recording.

The case has been in the news for irregularities in auction during the allocation of 2G spectrum. The accused in the case include high profile names like former Telecom Minister A Raja and DMK leader Kanimozhi, amongst others.
