2G collusion: Shahid Balwa tells CBI he has no links with AK Singh

New Delhi: Widening its probe into the 'taped' conversation between Central Bureau of Investigation prosecutor AK Singh and Unitech Managing Director Sanjay Chandra, the investigating agency on Wednesday questioned Swan and DB Realty promoter Shahid Balwa.

Balwa, another accused in the 2G telecom spectrum allocation scam, was named by Singh and Chandra in their conversation. The CBI summoned him in an effort to find his links to Singh. Balwa, however, has reportedly denied being in touch with Singh. But CBI is apprehensive. The investigation agency now plans to question other 2G accused to determine if they were in contact with Singh.

Earlier in the day, the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in its report said that the conversations were "untampered". However, in the absence of any voice samples of Singh and Chandra, it could not authenticate whether the voices in the recordings are of the duo, they said.
