New Delhi: Months after the CBI arrested three Reliance top executives in the 2G scam case, the focus has now turned on the chairman of the ADAG group, Anil Ambani himself.

CBI defending its investigation in the 2G scam, submitted in the Supreme Court that role of Anil Ambani and other Reliance employees is under probe in the sale of Swan Telecom shares to Delphi enterprises.

CBI informed the court that attempts were being made to catch the real beneficiaries in the sale of undervalued shares of swan telecom.

CBI told the court that the arrested Reliance executives have changed their version given to the CBI earlier. The three are now saying that they were simply employees of Reliance group.

CBI says they hope to have the three turn approvers in the case.

CBI also gave a clean chit to Datacom and Tata Teleservices in 2G scam. But said that donations given by various telecom companies to an NGO before issuing of licences was suspicious and probe in this matter was on.

If the three Reliance executives turn approvers, it could spell trouble for Anil Ambani. The CBI also stressed on keeping Chidambaram out of the 2G probe. The matter will now come up on the October 10.
