New Delhi: The Delhi High Court will continue to hear DMK MP Kanimozhi's bail plea on Monday in 2G spectrum allocation scam case. Judge OP Saini had earlier suggested that he will not be guided solely by the Supreme Court's grant of bail to the five corporate executives earlier this week.
Justice VK Shali had observed, "Are you (the accused) trying to submit that because the SC has granted bail to five corporates, for every one else it's a walkover? And that the HC doesn't have to consider anything else?"
The accused cannot cite the bail granted to five corporate executives by the Supreme Court to argue that everyone else can get a walkover in the case, the court said.
Former telecom secretary Sidharth Behura's lawyer Aman Lekhi protested against the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) decision to oppose Behura's bail and not oppose the bail pleas of Kanimozhi, Sharath Kumar, Karim Morani, Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal.
Kanimozhi had sought an early listing of her bail hearing after the apex court granted bail to Unitech MD Sanjay Chandra, Swan's Vinod Goenka and three Reliance ADAG officials on Tuesday.
