New Delhi: Former Telecom Minister A Raja has been remanded to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody for two more days on Tuesday by a special CBI court. CBI told the court that it wants to confront Raja with a few more Department of Telecom officers and to recover some documents related to the alleged 2G spectrum scam.
The investigating agency had asked Special CBI Judge OP Saini to send Raja to its custody for four days.
The CBI, however, did not ask for an extension of the custody of his former personal secretary RK Chandolia and former telecom secretary Siddartha Behuria. No custody application was moved for Chandolia and Behuria and they have been sent to Tihar Jail under judicial custody.
Earlier, when Raja reached the court on the expiry of his five-day custody, he was greeted by his supporters.
Raja was arrested by the CBI last week on charges of criminal misconduct and misusing his office.
