2nd Test: Sri Lanka look for another clinical show against Bangladesh

Whether it\'s batting or bowling, Sri Lanka were clinical in both the departments in the first Test.

Sri Lanka routed Bangladesh by an innings in the first Test at Mirpur and they will look for the same sort of result in the second and final Test starting in Chittagong on Monday.

Whether it's batting or bowling, Sri Lanka were clinical in both the departments. They batted just once and piled up 730 for 6. Bangladesh were no match to their opponents, getting bowled out for 232 and 250, losing the contest by an innings 248 runs.

Only three of the Bangladesh players got half-centuries, while Sri Lanka recorded three centuries, with seasoned Mahela Jayawardene scoring yet another double century (203).

Spinners are often expected to make a mark on the low and slow Bangladesh wickets, but it was Sri Lankan pacers who did the bulk of the damage. Both Suranga Lakmal and Shaminda Eranga shared 11 wickets in two Bangladesh innings. Dilruwan Perera, 31, got five wickets with his offspin, while Herath got three.

Bangladesh's top order was disappointing in both the innings and they will want the likes of Tamim Iqbal to contribute more.

The cricket loving public from Bangladesh will want their team to apply itself much more in the second game than they did in the first match.
