3 bogies of Mumbai bound train torched

CNN-IBN

Ranchi: Three bogies of the Tilak Express which runs from Ranchi to Mumbai caught fire under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday night at about at 2300 hrs IST.

The train was at Hatia Junction near Ranchi when the fire broke out. No casualties have been reported.

Railway officials have not ruled out the possibility that the incident may be linked to the ongoing protests against Raj Thackeray in Bihar and Jharkhand.

But they have refused to comment and are waiting for the forensics report.

A youth from Bihar, Rahul Raj, was killed by the Mumbai Police on Monday after he had allegedly hijacked a bus at Kurla saying he wanted revenge against the Raj Thackeray.

Rahul had apparently shot at and injured the conductor and a passenger on the bus.

His bullet-riddled body was handed over to his cousin and grandmother by the JJ Hospital authority in Mumbai after post-mortem on Tuesday and it reached Patna via New Delhi by an Indian flight at around 2100 hrs IST.
