Lucknow: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans allegedly gangraped four women in Fatehpur Bangai village in Shravasti district on Tuesday.
Seven jawans deployed at Jamunaha post raped four women of the village this morning, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Brijlal told reporters here.
An FIR against seven unidentified SSB jawans has been filed by one Hamid in connection with the incident, he said adding that 25 jawans were deployed at the post.
All the women were sent to Bahraich district for medical examination, he added.
Senior officials including DIG (range) R K Rai have reached the village to probe the allegation.
