Patna: A 40-year-old man was killed and his lover critically injured after the couple was mercilessly beaten up by the girl's relatives on Friday.
Nearly a dozen relatives of 20-year-old Pushpanjali attacked the couple with iron rods and sticks in Keshav Rai Ki Gali locality of Patna, police said.
The couple was rushed to the nearby Nalanda Medical collge. While Shailendra was declared brought dead, Pushpanjali is battling for life.
Doctors have said that she is critical and that chances of her survival were remote.
The father of the girl, Umesh Mishra, has been arrested an efforts are on to nab others, sources added.
