Mumbai: Maharashtra Police have detained five more people in connection with the murder of RTI activist Satish Shetty.
Shetty was a brave RTI activist from Pune who exposed several land grab deals in suburbs of the city and was brutally murdered near Talegaon.
Four days after the incident police have only detained five persons in connection with the murder case.
No arrests have happened and the real culprits and the conspirators seem to be still at large.
RTI activists have now decided to take up the issue to state government and raise a voice.
"I have decided to take this issue to the Chief Minister and also to the Chief Information Commissioner. If we don't seek justice these kinds of attacks will continue," said RTI acivist Shailesh Gandhi.
Social activist Anna Hazare too has decided to take up the issue. He alleged that those in power in Maharashtra government could be behind the attack on Shetty
"Unless there is backing of those in power, nobody could carry out this kind of an attack in broad daylight," said Hazare.
A candle light vigil was organised by RTI activists in Pune to demand action against the murderers while Bombay High Court took up this issue and also the threats issued to Mumbai based RTI activists Nayna Katpalia ordering the state government to file a report on the investigation in a week's time.
