New Delhi: An Al Queda-like CD has 32-year old Raju Bhai Himmat Ram Malvi, an Ahmedabad-based businessman desperately crying out.
He was kidnapped at the Delhi airport by five persons on the pretext of a business deal and the people behind the kidnapping are five IT professionals who demanded a Rs 1.5 crore ransom.
"They are all are working in MNCs, some in Computer companies. They are all graduates, someone's father is an engineer and someone's father is a retired army officer. All are well off,” said Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Delhi Police, Ranjit Narayan.
The mastermind of the kidnapping, Sandeep Parmer is the victim's first cousin.
The motive: to settle an old family dispute. The partners in the crime were four of his colleagues, all overqualified for kidnapping.
“They sent him an air ticket and he came to Delhi,” said Narayan.
It was quite an uphill task for the cops who had just descriptions to go by but it was a door to door combing operation and raiding more than 300 houses in Gurgaon which finally nailed the culprits.
