5 more cops booked in Sohrabuddin case

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: More policemen have come under the scanner in connection with the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

An Ahmedabad court on Monday issued arrest warrants against five policemen in connection with the case. Two of them are from Gujarat and three from Rajasthan.

The five had earlier been issued summons to record their statements before the CID. But all of them failed to appear before the investigating agency.

Sources say, the Gujarat Police also recorded statements of two IPS Officers – Anil kumar, SP Atilabad and Shashidhar Reddy, SP Chittur from Andhra Pradesh.

The officers have accepted that D G Vanjara and Ramesh Pandyan visited Hyderabad but don't remember the exact date. They also denied their involvement in the fake encounter.
