New Delhi: Five daily wage labourers were found dead under mysterious circumstances in Lonavala, some 100 km from Mumbai, on Saturday morning.

The bodies of all the five were found on handcarts in a local market. All the five dead labourers were reportedly hit with stones and killed.

Police say nine labourers were attacked. Of them four are injured, and have been admitted to a local hospital.

Police claim they know the identity of the killer and have spoken to some his friends.

They have, however ruled out a serial killer angle, but say he was a psychopath killer because all the labourers were killed one after the other in quick succession.

Initial investigations did not reveal a motive behind the killings.
