6 killed, 200 injured in a train accident

Faizabad (UP): Six persons were killed and around 200 others injured when they fell from the roof of a speeding train at Chilbila near Pratapgarh, about 80-km from Faizabad.

The incident happened when the people sitting on the roof of Saryu Express, plying between Allahabad and Faizabad, were hit by a tree branch, Station Officer, GRP, Abhimanyu Dhar Dwivedi said.

Six persons were killed and around 200 others were injured in the incident, he said.

The injured have been taken to nearby hospital. The passengers, who were to take part in an army recruitment camp being held in Faizabad were travelling on the roof as there was no space in the bogies, he added.
