This comes after a day after a mob of 200 people went on a rampage in Ghaziabad on Wednesday.
Friends and family of Raeez and Firoz, the two youngsters shot down by the UP police early Wednesday morning, gathered at the SP's office demanding action.
They allege that the minors were killed in a fake encounter. Though the police has now registered cases of murder and abduction against 6 police officers, they maintain the encounter was genuine.
However, Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad Anant Dev said, "These two men had stolen the car from a man called Naushad and they were trying to run away. They fired at the police and then the police fired back."
Father of Firoz, Anees Mohammed said, "They picked up my son from the vegetable market. We kept looking for him. We only got to know from the papers that he has been shot dead."
The police hasn't found any criminal case against Firoz till now, but Raeez they say had more than 10 criminal cases against him. They also clarified that post mortem reports made it clear that the boys were more than 20 yrs old.
The UP government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter. But families of Raaez and Firoz feel that this incident will just become another entry into the UP police's long list of encounters.
