7 AKKA World Kannada Conference to be held in Atlanta

The preparations are on, for the 7th World Kannada Conference of Association of Kannada Kootas of America (AKKA) in Atlanta for the three days. The venue of the event is Nrupathunga Kannada Koota, Atlanta at Georgia International Conference Center. Nrupathunga Kannada Koota is the oldest association in the USA doing various programs.

Nirupama Rao, ambassador of India to the United States will grace the event, which will feature the rich culture, heritage, language of Karnataka from August 31 to September 2. Jnanapith Award winner Dr Chandraskehara Kambara, Sudha Murthy, chairperson of Infosys foundation will also be present at the three day event.

The delegation from the Karnataka state government has already left for the 3 day event. Among them are actor turned politician BC Patil (MLA) and Sandesh Nagaraj (MLC).

Famous devotional singer Vidwan Vidyabhushana, Archana Udupa and Raghu Dixit will perform at the three day event.

The expected turnout from the Kannada cinema for the three day event will be Puneet Rajkumar, Shivraj Kumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Yogesh (Yogi), Vijay Raghavendra, Priya Mani, Radhika Pandit, Aindrita Ray, Ragini Dwivedi, Music director Harikrishna, Comedian Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokila.

AKKA is led by Dayashankar Adappa President, Amarnath Gowda (BOT Chairman), Shivamurthy Keelara Vice President, BL Acharya (Advocate). The AKKA India’s Co-ordinator met the Karnataka Chief Minister, DV Sadananda Gowda and invited him to inaugurate the 7th AKKA World Kannada Conference in Atlanta.
