Lucknow: Seven-year-old Sushma makes the long periodic table of elements sound like a nursery rhyme.

Little wonder that she has created a record by clearing the class X UP Board exam, and it wouldn't be a surprise if she makes her dream of being a doctor come true soon.

In a family of high achievers, Sushma is not the only child prodigy. Her brother Shailendra cleared class XII Board examination when he was just 11 years old.

He has also cleared the prestigious Scholastic Assessment Test and secured admission to a US university. “Youngsters are inspired by successful people and we try to follow them,” says Shailendra.

However, he is not sure if he can go. Their father Tej Bahadur Verma is a peon at the local school and obviously there are financial constraints.

“I hope with the goodwill of people my daughter will one day make the country proud,” says

Verma.

The spirit of whatever it takes reflects in a poem which Sushma often recites: "path par chahe kuch bhi ho us ka hum ko dar nahin, main main thaan liya ithihas banana hai." (No matter what obstacles come our way, do not have any fear. We have resolved to make history.)
