New Delhi: Looking good can take you far, but helping people look good can take you places as well, for a career in cosmetology promises handsome returns.
Dr Cheeranjivi Chhabra, who is a cosmetic laser surgeon, thinks she couldn’t have a “cooler” job.
The doctor’s specialty is laser treatments — a field of cosmetology that uses lasers to treat everything from warts to post surgery scars; all without any telltale cuts or scars. However, the job at hand is much more than that.
"I work as a dermatologist, psychologist, nutritionist, and as life style expert. I enjoy getting smiles on peoples’ faces," Dr Chhabra says.
If she is to be believed, there are no downsides of the job except that people sometimes mistake you for a glorified beautician.
The upside, however, really gets under your skin. The job is gratifying, financially rewarding and does not require night shifts.
Getting an MBBS degree and specialising in either dermatology or plastic surgery is the way to go about it.
So, if you do believe that beauty isn't just skin deep, then being a cosmetologist is probably your calling.
