Mumbai: There's nothing like coffee to kick start one's day, but a cup of coffee is more expensive than crude oil.

That's because a cup of Barista Coffee costs Rs 57 so a barrel of it works out to Rs 22,230. That's almost four times the price of one barrel of crude oil .

A barrel is approximately 117 litres. Now, taking crude at $140 per barrel and one dollar at Rs 40 it comes to Rs 5,680.

And how much does a barrel of Kingfisher beer cost? Well, it works out to Rs 10,179.

Not just beer, here's what some of our favourite things would cost us, if bought per barrel.

Coca Cola per barrel would be Rs 2,640 and that is not cheap considering that it is only carbonated, sweetened and flavoured water.

Even milk doesn't come cheap despite India being the world's largest producer of milk. A barrel of milk at an average of Rs 26 per litre would cost Rs 3,042.

So next time you spill your coffee, or leave that half-bottle of cola behind because you're satiated, you might want to think about just how much it's costing you.
