Mumbai: The Meher Bhargava case has stirred outrage across the city. A play in Mumbai registers its outrage over the case.
Performed by the Indian Drama and Entertainment Academy, the play attempts to make its voice heard, hoping to trigger a process of change.
"Its a small drop in the ocean, because the conditions which prevail against which a voice is being raised. Those conditions are so deep and are so deeply ingrained in our lives that it will take some time to change it. Nevertheless, any begginning is a step forward," says President Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, Salman Khurshid.
Others like social worker, Annu Tandon believe that the play is a means of ensuring that there is not another Meher or Jessica that happens in this country.
"We wanted to affect the people who can make a difference, those who can change the laws, the judiciary and see that there is no other such case again," she says.
The issues here may be far more complex than the play can address, but when it comes to joining the fight for justice, every effort counts.
