Click to play videoMumbai: It's going to be a ride sports fans will love. The Indian edition of the Sports Movie and Television Festival will hit theatres in January 2007.
The festival, open to filmmakers from across the world, will showcase films not sports and other topics. Only natural, given that there aren't too many films on the subject.
They will be judged by a panel that includes Sarika, Farhan Akhtar, sportsmen Michael Fereira and Sanjay Manjrekar.
"Frankly speaking, I was a little tired of seeing sports films on baseball and football, the very American kind of movies. So, this should be something new," says jury member of Sports Movie and Television Festival, Sanjay Manjrekar.
Organiser of Sports Movie and Television Festival, Ritesh Sinha, says, "We have entries from everywhere, films on mountain biking."
The winners of the festival will get to participate in the finale to be held in Milan next year.
