New Delhi: Two words - bail granted and the celebrations began. Special Judge OP Saini's order was greeted with spontaneous applause by A Raja's supporters inside and outside the court.

Going by the celebrations, it seems more like the former Telecom Minister has been acquitted rather than been granted bail. So it's important to note, that while these celebrations will continue, so will the trial on a day-to-day basis.

DMK MP Trichi Shiva said, "This shouldn't be interpreted as anything but an expression of our happiness."

With all the other 2G scam accused out on bail, Raja had applied for bail on grounds of parity. Agreeing with his argument, the court, however, set a few conditions while granting bail.

He will have to submit a bail bond of Rs 20 lakh, will have to surrender his passport and he can't visit Tamil Nadu or the DoT office in New Delhi.

Raja waited for 15 months to seek relief and now is the only 2G accused whose bail has never been rejected. As his family completes paperwork, his supporters are on their way to Tihar Jail, hoping he would walk out on Tuesday itself.
