New Delhi: Air India fliers will soon be able to fly regional routes in other cities.

The airline has been invited to the Star Alliance, a group of 19 airlines, 900 destinations and 160 countries.

Those who will benefit the most would be frequent fliers as their points can be redeemed on all the airlines in the network.

Passengers will also have access to business lounges and check-in counters of the other Star Alliance flight travelllers.

“You can fly to any of these destinations on an Air India ticket. You will not have to pay extra or get stuck anywhere,” explained TAAI’s former President, Balbir Mayal.
