New Delhi: Hard work and a lot of luck – that’s what’s needed to crack the Indian Institute of Technology exam.

But pleasing God to get into the prestigious institution is also a method that students in Kota in Rajasthan have adopted.

As exam time nears, hordes of students can be seen carrying plates adorned with flowers heading straight towards the IIT temple, named after the Indian Institute of Technology.

The temple, which is dedicated to Saraswati, the Goddess of learning, is a hub for aspiring students.

As a ritual, students write their wishes on the temple wall to let the Gods know of their aspirations.

Kota is home to over 45,000 students aspiring for an engineering degree and that means the walls of many a temple are covered with written prayers.
