New Delhi: A new film has released this Friday and a fresh controversy has erupted. On the very day that Madhuri Dixit's comeback vehicle, Aaja Nachle hit cinemas across the country, the film has been banned in Uttar Pradesh.
And that's not all. Chief Minister Mayawati, has faxed the Central Government demanding a country-wide ban on the movie, alleging that a song sequence in the film contained derogatory remarks against Dalits.
This is Madhuri's first film in five years, her last being Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas.
The director of the film, Anil Mehta told CNN-IBN, "This is very unfortunate. There is no mistake on our part."
He said that the producers of the film were willing to address the situation and will remove any objectionable part in the title track.
