CNN-IBN

New Delhi: Film actor Aamir Khan has sued Filmfare for Rs 21 crore accusing it of falsely using his name in the Filmfare award advertisement.

The advertisement shows Aamir wanting to get the "Lady in Black". The "Lady in Black" refers to the awards trophy.

Aamir said he never gave permission for the using his name and picture in the advertisement and has charged Filmfare with misrepresenting him.

On being asked why was Aamir suing Filmfare, his lawyer Anand Desai said that what Filmfare had done was unethical.

Filmfare, which organises an annual awards function for Bollywood, had used the names of several actors in the advertisements in the run-up to the awards function that will take place on Saturday night.
