Mumbai: General Elections 2009 is on everyone's mind and while almost all the A-list stars endorsed the need to exercise the right to vote campaigns, ironically almost all of them will not be in the country during the scheduled poll dates.
Aamir Khan is already in the US on a 2 month holiday…but don't worry, the actor will be back in Mumbai for just one day… to cast his vote.
Aamir said, “After a long time I am going for a vacation with my family and kids, but the elections just happen to fall in between my vacation, so I will be coming back only for a day to vote and will join them after that.”
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is already in South Africa for upcoming the IPL series but King Khan has also promised to return on election day in Mumbai to exercise his right to vote. Like SRK, Preity Zinta and Boman Irani too are scheduled to be in South Africa on April 30, the day Mumbai goes to vote, and both the actors have promised to return to que up at polling booths on D-day.
Preity Zinta said, “I wouldn't come to India for 1 day if elections weren't important to me.”
“Aamir Khan will be flying back after a holiday that he has taken after so many years with his children. He is out far away. But he will fly back to India just for that 1 day and then go back. I am in South Africa not very far away, but I will come back to vote. And I urge every single citizen of this country to vote. Please don't miss the opportunity to vote, said Boman Irani.
Well for once these celebrities seem to be putting their money where their mouth is.
