New Delhi: The BCCI on Thursday included Mumbai allrounder Abhishek Nayar in the India A squad to take on Australia in a three-day warm-up game to be played in Chennai next month.
Nayar's name initially did not feature in the squad, following which he expressed his disappointment for not being considered despite a successful Ranji Trophy Season. He was instrumental in helping Mumbai qualify for the final with 966 runs at an average of 99.60 - second in the season's overall run charts - and 19 wickets, after which they lifted the title for the 40th time by beating Saurashtra in the summit clash.
"I don't know why am I not considered good enough to be selected in either the India A or Board President's XI team," he told Cricketnext on Tuesday. "After my all-round performance this year, I was definitely expecting a place in the team but I guess the selectors think differently."
Nayar's name initially didn't feature in the squad, despite scoring 966 runs in the Ranji Trophy season.
The warm-up game - to be played from February 161 - will be part of Australia's preparations leading up to the four-Test series that begins with the first Test in Bangalore.
