KOCHI: The four-day meet of the annual National Executive of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will be begin here at the Town Hall on May 24. Student leaders and educationists from across the country and representatives of students organisations worldwide will attend the meet.
The conclave will seek to analyse the organisational activities, plan the future course of action, deliberate on the current national situation and educational reforms.
Three resolutions will be presented at the meet, including one on the current educational scenario, reforms, measures for regulating the private universities and commercialisation of education.
Problems faced by the north-eastern states, lack of educational opportunities there and difficulties faced by students from these states will a lso be discussed.
There will also be two special sessions conducted on ‘Global Warming’ and ‘Jammu & Kashmir scenario.’
The executive will discuss the future action plan of the Youth Against Corruption (YAC) movement launched by the ABVP. Discussions about the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda will also be held.
The national executive council meet will be preceded by a two-day meeting of the all-India office bearers. A reception committee with Justice T L Viswanatha Iyer as chairman and Advocate N Nagaresh as general secretary has been constituted.
