AC Milan have confirmed through their official website that LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham will be returning to the San Siro in 2010.

The 34-year-old spent six months with Milan last season and impressed with his performances for the club. He will again join the Italians on loan, and be able to feature from January until the end of the 2009-10 season.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star is desperate to return to Europe ahead of the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, in order to play competitive football and convince England coach Fabio Capello of his place in the squad.

'Becks' recently helped the LA Galaxy to finish first in the MLS Western Conference and after the end of the season will go to South Africa for the World Cup draw before going on vacation with his family. He will then join up with the Rossoneri squad before the new year.

The player's contract with the LA Galaxy runs until 2011, thus he will return to the United States after the World Cup. Beckham will also be able eligible to play in the Champions League, should the Rossoneri qualify for the knock-out round.
