Milan: AC Milan football club have confirmed that their midfielder Nigel De Jong will be out of action for five or six months after having his left achilles tendon snapped in their 4-2 victory over Torino.
The Dutch midfielder collapsed after 22 minutes into play Sunday and immediately gesticulated towards the bench that it was a serious problem, reports Xinhua. AC Milan club vice president Adriano Galliani confirmed De Jong's injury.
"De Jong's Tendine has snapped and that means the season is over for him. It's a big loss for the team and takes the shine off the win," he said. De Jong had only joined from Manchester City in the summer, but will now be sidelined for the rest of the season.
