Thane: A fake ration card issued in the name of Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been discovered by an activist at Ulhasnagar town in Thane, highlighting the laxity in the issuance of such documents.
The activist Premchand Jha said he had recently found a ration card bearing the name of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her two children, Rahul and Priyanka, in the streets in the township.
The ration card issued by a Thane ration card officer on August 7, 2011 has the address as 10, Janapth, New Delhi and the annual income of the family is shown to be Rs 30,000, he said.
Two rounds of ration quota has already been bought using the ration card, he said.
